(Seoul) Things Must to do in Han River

seoul_han river
Visitors who are planning to come to Seoul may have heard about the Han River with interest. The Han River is a large river that runs across the middle of Seoul. Whether it’s night or day, people are always romantic and perfect for relaxation.

If you have any plans to come to the Han River, you should first decide which side to go to.

Hangang Parks are located in many areas bordering the Han River, especially the most famous spots are Yeouido Hangang Park, Banpo Hangang Park and Ttukseom Hangang Park. Among them, I went to the nearest Yeouido Hangang Park.

Yeouido Hangang Park is located in Yeouido, the center of politics, finance and media, and is a popular attraction for office workers and ordinary citizens due to its accessibility through public transportation such as subways and buses. In particular, various events such as the Cherry Blossom Festival, the World Fireworks Festival, and various performances and marathon events are held, making it a resting place with plenty of things to see and enjoy.

Ready and Play

It’s beautiful to just go to the Han River, but I’ll tell you some secret preparations that only locals know about before the Han River. (The secret only locals know)

Tent rental (*sources : Star Tent)

1. Tent

The first item is a tent!
“What tent? What do you mean, tents? How do travelers have tents?”
But don’t worry about that.  There are several one-touch tent rental shops around Yeouido Station, so you can rent them.

Set up a tent in the grass of Hangang Park and lie down freely and take a rest while watching the Han River glistening in the sun. Is there any more comfortable rest than this?

The location of the tent rental shops is as follows.

2. Foods and Snack

There are various restaurants around Yeouido, so I recommend you to pack the food you want.
Some of the good foods to pack are tteokbokki, sushi, and kimbap. If you came with a Korean friend, it is also a good idea to order delivery food. However, if you don’t have Korean friends, it can be difficult to order delivery food, so it’s easier to buy it.

3. Shared bicycle or electric kickboard

Finally, there are many interesting rides around Yeouido Station, such as bicycles and electric kickboards. There are many rental shops around, so you can rent them for one to two hours, but what I recommend is a shared bicycle.

Called Ttareungi (Seoul City Shared Bicycle), it is very cheap and has good bicycle management at the price of $1 an hour, so it can be used very cleanly.

Take your bike and enjoy the scenery of Seoul while trekking around the Han River.

How to use Seoul Shared Bicycle

That video shows in detail how foreigners use the Ttareungi.

Festival

There are representative festivals held every year at Yeouido Hangang Park.

If the time of your trip is similar to the time of the festival, enjoy the Han River with these festivals.
