Busan, Korea’s 1st port city

Busan Travel

If someone asks me, “Where do you want to go in Korea?” I will recommend Seoul and Jeju Island, of course, but I will recommend Busan Travel.

Busan, called the second capital, is South Korea’s largest coastal city along the sea. In particular, the harmony between the sea and the high-rise forest creates a cool view. It was an exciting experience for me, who is living in Korea but it is my first time in Busan. Especially, Busan is famous for its international film festival, so it is a city where culture flows.

Busan Station

There were various tourist attractions in Busan, but I am sorry that I cannot introduce many places because I have stayed for a short period of time.

So I will introduce the three representative places I have been to in my Busan Travel : Haeundae, Taejongdae, and Gamcheon Culture Village.

The Places

Gamcheon Culture Village

Called Korea’s Santorini, this place is one of the must-visit places in Busan.

“Gamcheon Culture Village” is a place where refugees who were driven to Busan during the Korean War lived in groups, and it still retains the form of housing attached to it. It was reborn as a tourist attraction due to this sadness and artistic grooming in the village that had a history. Old traces can be seen all over the village alley, and once you go up to a certain point, you can see the sea and colorful villages clearly.

Taejongdae

Located at the southern tip of Yeongdo, Busan, Taejongdae is famous for its outstanding cliffs and sea scenery.

There are two main ways to climb Taejongdae.
1. Use a train that goes around Taejongdae once.
2. Walk around.

If you want to feel Taejongdae while looking at the natural scenery slowly, it is not bad to walk. In my case, I went up to the middle by train and walked the rest.

“The danubi”, the cycle of the train of Taejongdae, is on the entrance at the box office tickets available. The price is 2,000 won for adults very cheap. Also at the entrance to the locker have a heavy bag or suggest you to keep if you have any luggage.

Haeundae
The place that reminds me of summer beaches in Korea is “Haeundae” in Busan. Every summer, a huge crowd comes in and literally experiences half a person and half of the water. The clean white sand beach and the sea in front, and the dense forest of buildings right behind it, I think this is the beauty of Haeundae.

There are many restaurants, bars and attractions around Haeundae Beach, making it an interesting place where there is no time to be bored.

The Room

I stayed in a high-rise apartment with a view of the sea in front of Haeundae (booked at Airbnb).

If you are looking for an accommodation with a view of the sea from a high-rise building in front of Haeundae at a lower price than a hotel, it will be cheaper and more effective to find it on Airbnb. I stayed in a one-room room, but it was very neat and had a good view of the sea outside the window. So I can take a rest during Busan travel
